Tick Tock Tick Tock

Tick
Said that the clock, on the wall it stared with distant menace, my will to act balanced precariously on a fire wire nerve with tension heavy

Tock
It mocked freely, that fatal fate I so wish to avoid, taking a step forward in its macabre twisted march

Tick
The heavy hand sounds, no less promising as the times last ticked, ever consistent in the art of reminding me of my ever decreasing time, my hope stretched, snapped and gone

Tock
Screeches torturously from the clock, no longer seeming that far away, the ends twisted march a step closer and no sign of the help that luckier folk in my position would find

Edging closer to the ledge of the cliff upon which I temptingly perch, a small piece of lead loaded and ready end the misery at it’s pure source

Tick
Fucking incessant tick ticking, a cold metal hand and mechanical noise of fate winding closer, a harbinger of the methodical rhyme to bring forward my ugly demise

Cold metal solutions an ever increasing temptation as life’s better chances slip over the edge and prepare the jagged reef I have founded with every good intention

Tock
Friggin hell that tock, “NO NO NO“, on the crest of the fateful hour it can not be, sweat streaming and nervous rage screaming in the face of time reducing, stress increasing

Tick
TICK TICK, now stop you f’ing friggin clock, ticking ever nearer the hour, tick on the imminent minute, tick f’ing tick on the diminishing seconds of the time I do not have

Tock
TOCK TOCK TOCK, gun still threatening loaded, hammer cocked and shaky finger on hair wired trigger, clock slowing with every drawn out tock following its condescending tick

Tick…
Tock…
Tick…
Tock…

….BANG

A sweet bullet cure to cheat life, cheat fate, damn the hangman that is patiently waiting for my facade of better nature to slip

And best of all, no more to hear that bloody clock tick or tock or tick!!
